SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
“Meeting other medical students and
residents with a commitment to family medicine with similar
interests/personalities as me confirmed my decision,” said one
student attendee.
Family medicine knows no borders. Explore
humanitarian efforts and health opportunities at home and abroad:
- Reach across
sociological or physical borders.
- Touch lives at
home or abroad.
- Experience
hands-on medicine.
This conference is your chance to take part in
free workshops, network with other students, and learn about family
medicine issues at the student congress. Representatives from more
than 300 residency programs, recruitment firms, health agencies, and
hospitals will be in the exhibit hall to answer your questions about
residency opportunities.
“The 2007 conference was my first real exposure
to Family Medicine residencies! Having just completed my first year
of medical school, along with attending this conference, I now feel
I have a very good understanding of what to look for in a Family
Medicine residency program and I also know how to get a jump start
on visiting residency sites! I would recommend attending to anyone
who is interested in Family Medicine,” said Maria Carrow, 2nd
Year Student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth.
Getting Time Off Students scheduled for
exams or who are on rotations can make arrangements to be excused to
attend this conference. Students will leave by charter bus (from
Duluth, Minneapolis and Owatonna) on Wednesday, July 30 and return
late Saturday night August 2, 2008.
