Resident Director and Alternate Director
Any resident
member of the MAFP can be a candidate for Resident Director to serve
on the MAFP Board of Directors. The resident must be a resident
during the time of service on the Board. The one-year term begins
and ends with the House of Delegates/Organizational Board meeting
each year, usually April or May.
The election
of the director and alternate director will take place at the
Resident Caucus, preceding the House of Delegates. You do not need
to be a delegate to be a candidate for director.
Description of RESIDENT DIRECTOR and Alternate Director
- The Resident
Director is a voting member of the MAFP Board of Directors and an
ex-officio member of the Academic Affairs Committee and therefore
has a responsibility to actively participate in these meetings. The

Committee.
Board meetings
are held quarterly on Saturday mornings in Minneapolis. Mileage is
reimbursed. Academic Affairs Committee meets 4-6 times a year on
weeknights at the MAFP office. Participation can be in person or via
conference call.
- The
Resident Director represents the MAFP as the official voting
delegate at the annual National Conference of Family Practice
Residents and Medical Residents in Kansas City which is Aug 1-4,
2007. Registration, lodging and transportation are paid. The
Alternate Director attends as the alternate voting delegate with
expenses paid as well.
- The
Resident Director provides an annual report to the House of
Delegates.
- The
Resident Director and Alternates may be asked to help with education
at the Resident Recruitment Event and Spring Refresher, to advise the MAFP in recruiting
