The AIM-HI
program was created by the AAFP to help curtail the nation's
obesity epidemic through fitness, which is defined by the
Academy as Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and
Emotional well-being. With focus on these three components,
family physicians are equipped with evidence-based tools and
resources to assess their patient's health status and help those
dealing with overweight, obesity and other related chronic
conditions (e.g. diabetes, hypertension) not only lose excess
weight, but live healthier lifestyle.
