activities for bioterrorism and other public health threats in
Minnesota. Its website is www.health.state.mn.us/oep/index.html. Other resources for family
physicians interested in knowing more about bioterrorism
preparedness are available through your local hospitals and public
health departments.
AAFP Posts New Terrorism Preparedness Resources
The Academy continues its mission of providing
members the tools they need as sentinel family physicians against
bioterrorism and other public health threats.
to checkout the resources. What you’ll find are direct links to
the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Web site — which gives
detailed information on preparing for terrorist attacks — and to the
American Red Cross’ Web site — which offers resources in both
English and Spanish on what the department’s five threat conditions
for possible terrorist attack mean, with specific information for
individuals, families, neighborhoods, schools and businesses. Also
new to the AAFP site are downloadable materials for you and your
patients, including a flyer to post in your office, urging patients
to talk with you about any terrorism concerns they may have.
