LPN Scope of Practice

The Minnesota Medical Association has recently issued a report that provides guidance to physicians and clinic managers regarding the medical functions that might appropriately be delegated to an LPN within a clinic or physician office setting. Effective July 1, 2002, Minnesota statute was clarified to allow an RN to prescribe legend drugs under a physician protocol and an LPN may administer vaccinations under a physician protocol.
