(St. Louis Park)— Alan Olson,
M.D., has been elected president-elect of the Minnesota Academy
of Family Physicians (MAFP). Dr. Olson, a family physician with
Affiliated Community Medical Centers - Redwood Falls, was
elected to the position last week at the MAFP’s 64th
Annual Meeting.
As president-elect,
Dr. Olson will serve as a member of the Board of Directors and
as an ex-officio member of all committees and task forces. In
addition to these duties, he will assume the duties of the
president and vice president in their absence and at the
discretion of the board of directors. He will be installed as MAFP President next year.
The Minnesota Academy of Family
Physicians is a professional association of approximately 3,000
family physicians, family medicine residents and medical
students established to assist family physicians in providing
quality medical care in Minnesota. The MAFP is the largest
specialty organization in Minnesota and is a state chapter of
the American Academy of Family Physicians, the largest medical
specialty organization in the United States, with more than
90,000 members.
