Student Membership

You are invited to join the specialty organization for family medicine, the Minnesota/American Academy of Family Physicians.

The MAFP Is:

• A statewide organization of 3,000 medical students, residents, and family physicians devoted to continuing and comprehensive health care in the family and community environment.

As A Member You:

• Are eligible for a scholarship to attend the National Conference for family medicine residents and medical students in Kansas City. The conference is an opportunity to learn skills, network with peers, visit residency programs and have fun.

• Receive automatic membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians, the nation's largest specialty society.
• Have a voice in local, state, and national medical issues.
• Are eligible to participate in the David Mersy, M.D., Student Research Externship, the Residency Recruitment event, as well as take advantage of the many leadership opportunities in the Academy. Student members also receive complimentary registration to the annual MAFP Spring Refresher 2-day CME conference.
• Receive the American Family Physician, a highly-respected scientific journal. Every month, you will receive articles electronically on a variety of clinical subjects.
• Receive a link to the electronic version of the Minnesota Family Physician, the MAFP publication that provides busy members easy-to-read current information on legislative issues and activities.

Student member dues are complimentary.
