AAFP National and Regional FMIG Information
The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) provides and supports
opportunities for medical students through the FMIG Network. The Virtual Family
Medicine Interest Group provides information and resources that empower you
to explore the discipline of family medicine and topics such as career
choice, roled models, leadership development, the Match, residency, clinical
resources, technology, and much more. It also provides an FMIG manual for
student leaders and faculty in managing a successful campus organization.
The National Coordinator is a medical student elected at the National
Conference for Family Practice Residents and Medical Students.
The Network is divided into geographical regions with a regional coordinator. Minnesota
is in the Greater Midwestern Region.
The FMIG Network publishes The Exchange four times a year as a forum for
FMIGs to share ideas an successes.
