(St. Louis Park)— Daron Gersch,
M.D.,
has been elected as the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP)
Speaker of the House of Delegates. Dr. Gersch, a family
physician with Albany Medical Center, was elected to the
position last week at the MAFP’s 65th Annual Meeting.
As speaker of the house, Dr. Gersch will organize and preside
over meetings of the House of Delegates, the policy-making body
of the MAFP. He will also serve as a member of the board
of directors and the executive committee.
The Minnesota Academy of Family
Physicians is a professional association of approximately 3,000
family physicians, family medicine residents and medical
students established to assist family physicians in providing
quality medical care in Minnesota. The MAFP is the largest
specialty organization in Minnesota and is a state chapter of
the American Academy of Family Physicians, one of the largest
national medical organizations in the United States, with more than
97,000 members.
