2008 Minnesota Family Physician of the Year Finalists

The award is presented annually to a family physician who represents the highest ideals of the specialty of family medicine, including caring, comprehensive medical service, community involvement and service as a role model.  Nominations came from patients, as well as colleagues and administrators.

The 2008 Family Physician of the Year finalists are:

2.  Dr. David Detert, ACMC-Litchfield

3.  Dr. Jeffrey Ehnstrom, Riverwood Healthcare Center, Aitkin

4.  Dr. Harvey Frank, Allina Forest Lake Clinic, Forest Lake

5.  Dr. Donald Kammerer, Albert Lea Medical Center -Albert Lea

6.  Dr. Erik Kanten, Riverview Clinic, Crooskston

Note:  Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate their family doctor.  We received a total of 27 nominations this year.  Needless to say, it was difficult for our selection committee to narrow the field of nominees to just six.  The MAFP Board of Directors will now select a winner.  The name of the 2008 Family Physician of the Year will be made public during an awards ceremony on April 17, 2008.  If your physician was not named a finalist or is not selected as the recipient of the award, please feel free to nominate him or her again next year.  Nominations will be accepted for the 2009 award beginning in October 2008.
