specialty of Family Medicine.
Our Foundation
does not have needs. People have needs…
People have problems, they have concerns, and
some live in distress. As family physicians, we struggle with the
challenges of providing quality health care for all, and with the
future of Family Medicine. Our MAFP Foundation is responding with
answers and solutions to these needs.
Here’s how
you make an impact on programs vital to the MAFP Foundation’s
mission:

We’re providing
Externship awards
-- funded
through the David Mersy, M.D. Medical Student Externship Program.
The program supports medical students interested in Family
Medicine develop research projects under the guidance of a Family
Medicine mentor.

We’re assisting
the next generation --
providing scholarships that allow Family
Medicine residents to participate in national patient education
and leadership conferences.

We’re providing
financial support to the MAFP Research Network
-- to stimulate
and fund Family Medicine research projects that focus on improving
patient care.

We’re
committed to helping patients be able to afford the prescription
drugs they need to improve or maintain their health
-- by partnering with the Corporate Advisory Council (CAC),
and state and local health agencies on a range of initiatives.

We’re
supporting efforts for equal access to health care services and
education --
for Minnesota
residents who speak little or no English.
With your support, we can provide more Externships,
encourage medical student interest in Family Medicine, stimulate and
fund more research, and do more to improve the health of your
patients.
Strengthen the Foundation by making a tax-deductible contribution:
Donations to this 501.c.3 Foundation are tax-deductible as
charitable contributions to the extent provided by law. Specific
programs may be funded or contributions may be made to the MAFP
Foundation general fund.
Donation Tips:
- Consider a gift of stock (no capital gains to pay).
- Does your company or your spouse’s match donations?
- Donate in honor, celebration or memory of a loved one.
- Remember MAFP Foundation in your will.
- Consider Leaving a Legacy, and other planned giving options

Donors will be informed of our mission, the way we intend to use donated resources and our capacity to use donations effectively for stated purposes.
Donors will be informed of the identity of those serving on our Board, and the Board will exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
Donors will be shown current financial statements upon request.
Contributions will be used only for the purposes for which they were given.
Donors will receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
Information about donations will be handled with respect and confidentiality.
Donors will be encouraged to ask questions when making donations and will receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
The MAFP Foundation donor list is confidential. We do not sell, share or loan it.
