Medical Students Eligible for Clinical Research Externship

Minneapolis, MN - January 2, 2008 – Medical students in the Family
Medicine specialty program are eligible to apply for a $2,000
clinical research externship grant as part of the David J. Mersy
Medical Student Summer Externship Program. Medical students select
a research topic in family medicine and work with a family physician
mentor for 6 to 8 weeks this summer. The application deadline is
February 26, 2008.
Students
are awarded a $2,000 research grant. Students may collaborate on
one externship project with the $2,000 grant divided among those
students. Data collection is initiated during the summer of 2008.
Further review, analysis and writing of the project can be completed
after that. Students are required to submit a final report to the
MAFP Foundation and present their research project at the MAFP
Research Forum.
First
and second-year students are especially encouraged to apply.
Medical student members of the MAFP are eligible to apply. To
become a member of MAFP If you are not currently a medical student
member of MAFP you may join through an easy and very inexpensive
