Minnesota Family Physicians Support Our Troops
The Minnesota
Academy of Family Physicians, in conjunction with
Operation Minnesota Nice, collected items to include in care
packages for men and women serving in the military. The West Metro
Chapter of the Academy and the MAFP Foundation provided the funds to
ship 125 care packages overseas. The total weight of all the boxes
mailed was close to 1000 pounds!
A group of Minnesota family doctors put together the first round of
packages on November 14th. Thanks to generous donations from other
family physicians, their patients and members of the public, enough
items were collected to send out an additional 100 care packages the
last week in November.
