CME Sessions
More than 30 educational sessions promise to provide you with
the latest information relevant to your practice. Every detail
is planned by family physicians who recognize the value of education
that you can apply to your daily practice.
CME Handouts
CME habndouts will be provided to all attendees on flashdrives that
have note-taking capability. Attnedees are encouraged to use
their laptops during the CME sessions. Plug-ins will be
provided. Those who wish to have a paper syllabus must
pre-order one on the registration form. Attendees who do
not check "yes" to request a syllabus will only get a flashdrive.
Beginning in 2011, attendees who wish to have a paper syllabus will
be charged an additional fee to cover the cost of production.
Cancellation Policy
Only cancellations received by April 12th will be refunded, minus a
$35 service fee.
New Offering: Board Certification SAM
Study Group Session
On Friday, April 16th, the MAFP is pleased to offer a
SAM Study Group session on Coronary Artery Disease. To cover the
administrative costs, the MAFP will charge a fee of $20 to register
for the SAM Study Group session in addition to the one- or two-day
registration fee for the Spring Refresher. Registration will be
limited to 50 family physicians on a first come, first served basis.
Important Note: Fees paid to the MAFP do not include
the ABFM Maintenance of Certification (MC-FP) fees.
Participants in MC-FP will be required to pay MC-FP fees in order to
complete the Clinical Simulation portion of the SAM module.
Participants not in MC-FP who desire to receive CME credit for this
session will be required to pay to the ABFM the current SAM fee in
order to complete the Clinical Simulation portion of the SAM module
and prior to receiving CME credit.
Participants will only receive MC-FP credit for the
module if they are currently eligible for and enrolled in the MC-FP
process; have not already completed the module topic that is being
covered in the SAM Study Group session; have not already completed
their current MC-FP Stage requirements; successfully complete the
Knowledge Assessment portion of the SAM module within the group or
afterward if needed as well as the Clinical Simulation and they
attend and fully participate in the educational discussion of the

All-Member Celebration and Buffet Dinner
Join your fellow MAFP members to celebrate Family Medicine!
On Thursday, April 15, 2009, at 5:15 p.m., enjoy a FREE buffet-style dinner and dessert bar while networking
with colleagues in a casual setting. A short program, honoring
the 2010 Family Physician of the Year and the new MAFP President,
will be held, leaving plenty of time for conversation. A cash
bar will also be available. Tickets for guests of MAFP members - $10.
Resident and Medical Student Lunch
On April 15th, residents and medical students are invited to gather
for a lunch presentation at 12:05 p.m. on improving communication
with patients who have limited English proficiency. Attendees
will learn specific techniques and skills for working with trained
interpreters. Alejandro Maldonado from the Minnesota
Department of Human Services will be our presenter. This
program is made possible by the AAFP and MAFP Foundations.
Award Presentations
We will recognize MAFP award winners at the beginning of each of the
General Sessions on Thursday, April 15, 2010. (MAFP Teacher of
the Year, MAFP Resident of the Year, MAFP Researcher of the Year and
MAFP Medical Student award winner.) Nominations for these
awards are due by February 23rd, 2010.

Family Docs in Motion
SR participants are invited to maintain their exercise regimen and
join their colleagues for an early morning run/walk on Friday, April
16th at 6:15 a.m. Participants will meet in the lobby of the
Crowne Plaza Hotel and will be given a map of the 3K route.
Exhibits
Visit the exhibits to learn about new
products, services and practice opportunities. Exhibitors help keep Spring Refresher
