LEAWOOD, Kan. – Dr. Jerry and Susan Rogers, Moorhead, MN, were
awarded the 2010 Philanthropist of the Year Award by the
American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (AAFP
Founation) during its Annual Recognition Dinner on September
30, 2010 in Denver, CO. The AAFP Foundation’s Annual
Recognition Dinner was held in conjunction with the AAFP’s
Scientific Assembly, one of the largest gatherings of primary
care providers in the country, September 30 – October 2, 2010.
The Philanthropist of the Year is awarded each year to
individuals who exemplify the spirit of philanthropy through
financial, leadership and volunteer support of Family Medicine
philanthropic efforts. These individuals encourage
philanthropy in others and serve as inspiring role models.
The 2010 Philanthropist of the Year Award recipients, Dr.
Jerry and Susan Rogers, have a deep commitment to the AAFP
Foundation. Dr. Rogers is a Past President of the Foundation
and served many years on the Foundation's Board of Trustees.
In addition, the Rogers have traveled with the Physicians With
Heart delegation to Tajikistan and supported many of the
Foundation's other programs as well as efforts at the chapter
level and in the local community.
